Build a governed pathway into Nigeria.

Cross-border decisions require more than a local introduction.

A credible Nigeria pathway should address jurisdiction, client type, ownership, market evidence, partner governance, currency and funding, regulatory dependencies and execution capacity. The first review confirms what NCDF may lawfully and operationally discuss and which company should own the next step.

Invest or manage personal capital

For eligible diaspora individuals or families seeking an objective-led portfolio or approved investment-management pathway.

Enter or grow a business in Nigeria

For international or diaspora-owned organisations testing demand, route to market, partners, economics and implementation.

Prepare or raise capital

For Nigeria-linked companies or sponsors that need capital readiness, structure or a separately accepted transaction route.

Manage institutional or family-office capital

For eligible organisations with liquidity, reserve, portfolio or mandate responsibilities across jurisdictions.

Evaluate a project or partner route

For authorised sponsors assessing a project, local operating model, partner relationship or implementation structure.

Implement an approved plan

For organisations that have made the decision and need owners, milestones, partner coordination and management reporting.

Select the underlying decision; country review still applies.

PERSONAL OR FAMILY INVESTMENT

Start with country, objectives, liquidity, amount band and eligibility. Responsible route: NCDF Investment Management after review.

BUSINESS MARKET ENTRY OR GROWTH

Start with customer, offer, route to market, partner options, economics and implementation. Responsible route: NCDF Commercial Services.

CAPITAL READINESS OR RAISING

Start with the issuer, funding purpose, amount, information and stage. Preparation may precede a separate NCDF Securities process.

INSTITUTIONAL OR PROJECT MANDATE

Start with sponsor authority, capital/project purpose, governance, relevant countries and required output. Responsible route follows scoping.

Nigeria Market Entry Diagnostic

A structured decision review before committing significant capital, appointing a partner or building an operating footprint.

The diagnostic tests the target customer, problem, demand evidence, route to market, partner or direct-entry options, pricing and cost-to-serve, currency and working-capital assumptions, regulatory dependencies, local capability and phased implementation.

Indicative output

  • A concise market and customer hypothesis supported by available evidence.
  • Comparison of route-to-market and partner options.
  • Commercial economics, key assumptions and information gaps.
  • Priority legal, regulatory, tax, immigration, data or sector dependencies for specialist confirmation.
  • A phased proceed, adapt, pause or stop recommendation with owners and decision gates.

A controlled sequence from country review to specialist engagement.

  1. Identify the countries and client type. Confirm residence, incorporation, relevant jurisdictions, Nigeria connection and authorised participants.

  2. Complete a jurisdiction and communication review. Determine whether NCDF may provide general or service-specific information and what restrictions apply.

  3. Clarify the objective and stage. Assess investment, market-entry, capital, project, partner or implementation needs and the information available.

    1. Assign the responsible company and scope. The relevant NCDF company confirms eligibility, due diligence, deliverables, fees, timetable and engagement terms.

  4. Use verified onboarding and payment channels. Sensitive documents and any funds are handled only under formal, verified instructions and approved controls.

A clear cross-border profile helps NCDF route the enquiry safely.

  • Country of residence for individual participants and country of incorporation for any organisation.
  • Your connection to Nigeria and the legal or operating entity expected to participate, if known.
  • The primary objective: invest, manage capital, enter a market, grow, raise capital, identify a partner, develop a project or implement a plan.
  • Target sector, customer, geography, project or asset context at a high level.
  • Indicative amount or budget band, currencies, target timing and decision authority.
  • Existing Nigerian entities, partners, advisers, pilots or commercial discussions at a high level.
  • Other countries materially connected to ownership, funding, communication or execution.

Further KYC/KYB, beneficial ownership, source-of-funds or source-of-wealth, legal, tax, regulatory and transaction information may be required after qualification through a secure route.

Verify the company and instructions before sharing documents or money.

  • Use only contact details and company information published on approved NCDF websites or formal engagement documents.
  • Make payments only to accounts formally identified in verified engagement, mandate or transaction documents issued by the responsible NCDF company.
  • NCDF does not request investment, transaction or service funds to personal accounts.
  • Do not send identity documents, bank statements, passwords, access codes or confidential transaction files through an unverified channel.
  • Report suspicious domains, messages, payment instructions or impersonation through the Trust & Compliance route.

The cross-border route is reviewed first; specialist responsibility follows.
